Paradigms to break in supply chain management

Paradigms to break in supply chain management

Paradigms, supply chain management, supply chain, supply, cadena, demand, budget, information, planning, suppliers

In this post there is a list of different paradigms I could find accross the web. They must be more probably, but this list is down to Earth.

It is impossible to see the real consumer demand

Real demand can be captured and should be shared with suppliers

Powerfull softwares are needed to capture information

We just have to capture the right information, not all the information. Softwares help to capture and process data but the lack of them does't mean we can't capture it.

Sharing information with our suppliers / customers make us vulnerables

Companies should compete with products, services and efficiency, not with data.

If we share information the more benefited is the supplier

A benefit out supplier can achieve in exchange of our information, should leverage our own capabilities and the entire supply chain capability.

Sharing information with our suppliers compromise our negotiation position

Sharin information allow to negotiate based on real cost reductions. You don´t give for free, you give to get benefits in exchange.

Forecast is made monthy based on sales goals and restricted to budget

Forecast should be dynamic and must be reviewed continually. Sales goals and budget are drivers for sure, but shouldn´t be word of God.

Launch of new products have a high impact over planning, nevertheless represent too sensitive information

The cost of a planning error in the launch of new products is too high for the entire chain. It is better to work in confidentiality contracts with our suppliers than not having a shared planning.

Are you agree with the paradigms describe in this post? can you think of any others? Let me know in your comments
